It is always exciting when a stranger writes nice words about my books. Family and friends are kind, but I never know if they are just being sweet and politically correct, although I have to hope they are truly sincere. And goodness knows, I appreciate every one of their comments and words of encouragement even if they are a little biased.
While on a recent cruise, a friend of mine gave a copy of Keeping Faith to a lady in Nova Scotia who sent her the following note about the book:
“Well, very good choice in books!! I started to read last night when I went to bed sometime around 11 p.m. and had to put the book down at 3 a.m. because of tired, blurry eyes. I started again this morning and just finished. Your description was quite accurate. From the beginning through to the end, every range of emotion possible was brought forth…just when I thought I could guess what would happen next, there was an unexpected turn…good for a book, but not for the storyline in my head.”
She continued, “After the first twist…I couldn’t read fast enough and towards the end… all ended too soon. (I deleted a few descriptions so as not to give the story away for those who haven’t read yet). I am heading to Amazon right after this email so I can (order Promises Kept) and find the outcome of the offending priest and if Faith’s parents unite—is that a too Hollywood ending to hope for?? Thank you for the experience—always enjoy a great book…Thanks for introducing me to this author. I would like to meet the talent behind the print and will bring my books to South Padre Island in April for her to sign…”
See why I am excited?? I appreciate her kind words, and I especially am grateful to my friend, Gayle, who gave my book as a gift thousands of miles away. You can do the same. Come on, let’s be global!!!
