Cindy Bradford Launches Novel Blog
Welcome to my web site and very first blog. I never really thought of myself as the “blogging type.” Then I thought about how much my Christmas letter each year sounds like one long and probably boring blog. My mother hated Christmas letters because she thought they were pretentious and full of bragging. So every December when I sit down to type out the summary of places I have been and things I have done over the last twelve months I feel a little guilty, knowing mom would not be proud. But how else are all my friends I never see or otherwise communicate with throughout the year going to know what I am doing unless I write what mother referred to quite disparagingly as an epistle? So maybe now if I can convince all my friends to read my blogs I can save them from THE CHRISTMAS LETTER!
But enough about that because I am going to write, mother’s approval or not! And I am going to brag and tell you that my first novel should be out soon. The title is Keeping Faith, but more about that later. It has taken a very long time coming to this point. Writing is the easy part; getting it published, well that is another whole story. Actually, the book has been finished for some time, but every time I look at it I see words and phrases that need editing. I really love my characters and they have become real people to me—kinda scary! But after a couple of years I have grown tired of them because they require so much attention. Now Patrick and Faith are like company that stays too long; I must send them out on their own for better or worse! I know, however, that once I hold the book in my hand and gently turn the pages, I will fall in love with them all over again.
Just to get your interest piqued I’m going to share with you what is tentatively planned for the back cover of the book:
KEEPING FAITH is a story of love found, lost, and found again, of betrayal, forgiveness, redemption and healing. Most of all it holds the bitter truth of how the selfish actions of individuals far transcend the moment.
As a ten year old, Patrick O’Brien is abused by his priest. Ashamed and afraid no one will believe him, for years he carries the unspeakable act alone, allowing it to eat at the recesses of his heart, destroying relationships one by one.
Finally, he is confronted by the one person who is determined to get to the truth no matter what the cost. She has waited almost two decades to unravel his lies, to break down his barriers, and to find out why he was more interested in saving souls than claiming her. When she appears at his door he can no longer run; there is no escaping the past, even if it destroys him.

Paragraphs on Padre
Congratulations!!!!! I, like everyone else, will be looking forward to relaxing in a quiet place, opening the book and getting lost in this heart-catching story.
Kathy
Can’t wait! The Moos can make this our next “must read.” I am anxiously awaiting the book signing in a store in the DFW area – great reason for an old friends’ get-together!
This is awesome – another part of you I didn’t know about . . . but am excited to read the novel. Want to be one of the first to purchase an autographed copy . . . then strut around saying, “the author and I have drunk wine together!!”
If your book is as good as your blog, it will be a great success! I can’t wait to read your book. Let it go, girl! We are all awaiting. Aren’t you found Chris to help you pull that book off the shelf at last?
Ooops. I meant, aren’t you glad you found Chris?
Cindy, I am proud to call you ‘friend.’ And, like those ‘English people,’ the old typing teacher in me could have helped you find those little mistakes..lol I have written stuff for years; always thought I might do a novel one day. People always tell me I should write a book of my experiences, but I don’t have the discipline. I admire you tremendously for that. I WILL be getting this book!
Congratulations! Where do you find the time? Do you sleep while during all this traveling, evaluating schools — and writing and rewriting?
The former English teacher (me) will be interested in reading your novel.
What’s wrong with people who solve Sodoku puzzles? We are just a “little” more left-brained. I promise when I read it I won’t point out any mistakes. Congratulations!
Oh my gosh!!! I am so proud of you! I can’t wait to read it. Congratulations my dear author friend!!! When do you go out on an author signing circuit?
I am so proud of you!! Can’t wait to get my hands on it and could care less about any grammatical errors…a good story is what it’s all about. Yes, hope you come this way for a book signing.
You are the best!!! Thank you for all your kind words. So glad you are on this journey with me. After all, what makes my life so blessed is having friends like you–some I see often, some not so much, and I have met you all at different stages and places in my life. Funny thing is that I remain the same ole crazy Cindy whenever, wherever. And the best part is that time and distance never diminish the kindred spirit and memories that we share. Thank you for caring, and don’t forget to check in often!
Congratulations! I can’t wait to read it.
You did more than pique my interest. I enjoyed the blog even though I know most of the information contained in it. I want to read the book. As I read your interest I was a little surprised you listed enjoying wine last. I imagine that because getting “Keeping Faith” published has required you to do as the title suggest you will enjoy its future all the more. Oh by the way I typed my response in Microsoft Word and ran spell check and grammar check just to make sure I did not offend.
I can’t wait to read your book! I read a book a day this summer. Now that I’m back to work, I can only manage a book or two a week. I just received a Kindle for my birthday, are you going to have a Kindle version? I am off to teach a web page class to Teachers (notice the capital, Teacher is a proper noun) and decided to have a few sips of champagne in honor of you. Okay maybe I just wanted a few sips of champagne! LOL
Cindy, I am so proud of you! I cannot wait until I can order your book! The Moos will put it at the top of our discussion list!!
Hi Cindy,
It has been several years since we travelled with you on the England, Scotland and Ireland tour but we see that you have been very busy travelling and writing.
We wish you the best of luck in publishing your book and maybe we’ll see it in Canada some day soon.

I loved reading about your new novel__another accomplishment of a multi-talented person I am happy to call “friend”. I look forward to reading my autographed copy.
My aunt the published author! How cool is that!! I can’t wait to read the book. I know you have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this and to see it come to fruition, must be a tremendous feeling of pride and accomplishment. Grammatical errors or not, Grammy and Dat would be very proud of you. As am I!
Julia
